Ladies and Gentlemen, I have finally cracked!
I used to go into Debenhams and swatched all of the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine range all the time. Mainly because I was looking to buy one but I couldn't decide on a shade. I wanted to get a shade that suits me and one that I can wear all the time. Originally, I plan on buy it at the duty free but to my dismay Leeds' airport does not stock any YSL Rouge Volupté Shine. Thus, it has been a long long time since I have been lusting after this beauty but the wait is finally over! Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine is now mine (thanks to 25% off everything at Sephora)!
Without a doubt YSL by far has the best packaging out of all the cosmetics I have ever seen. I mean just look at that gold packaging! Need I say more?! I love how the packaging looks, especially the design/logo of the YSL where the each shade of the lipstick is displayed.
Of course, having beautiful packaging alone would not persuade me to spend this amount of money on a lip product which I have hundreds and hundreds of already. It did take me a very long time to justify this purchase and I have swatched every single shades in the YSL range before making my decision and I've asked at least 2 people whether or not the shade actually suits me. Needless to say, I do not take buying high end makeup lightly.
So let me get into why I love this YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in Fuchsia in Rage (19). Firstly, I love the sweet scent of this product because it reminds me of candy and it also tastes like candy. Secondly, even though, it has balm like texture, I find that the colour pay off is actually fantastic as when the shine wears off after about 3 hours, the colour is still visible. I feel like it works a little bit like a stain too. Thirdly, I find it moisturising and it doesn't dry out my lips like some products. Fourthly, the colour is buildable, so I can use it when I want a natural look but I can also use it when I want to wear bright lipstick. Fifthly, it is very easy to apply straight from the tube. Finally, on my latest vlog I was wearing this for the whole day from 10am to 11pm and I had 3 meals, it stayed on all day with only one touch up at about 6pm. So I think that is some serious wear time.
However, as much as I love YSL's products. I do find that their products are very pricey and I might not have bought it if it wasn't because of the 25% off. Having said that, I'm glad that I did because I do think that it is worth that price tag, looking at just the packaging alone. I have also been using it quite often too, so it is not a complete waste of money. As for, would I repurchase it? The answer would have to be definitely! I'm already restraining myself with shade 12. They are just too pretty and I think that if you can afford it then definitely get it.
So, those pictures are just to show you what Fuchsia in Rage looks like on me, sorry about the weird angle of the first picture. Anyway, I would describe Fuchsia in Rage as a pink with purple hue.
