Hello beautiful!

I have totally caught on to the YSL frenzy this year. This was my first YSL's purchase before the Rouge Volupté Shine which I blogged about earlier but for some reason I forgot to photograph it until now. I have been lusting after the YSL glossy stain for a while and Fuchsia Dore "14" caught my eyes in Sephora (where I pretty much live...).

YSL's packaging for the Glossy Stain's line is not as luxurious as their other products but still lovely nonetheless. With its gold cap and black cube with a window to display the shade. With the Glossy Stain, just like other YSL products, it has beautiful scent. Although, I couldn't figure out what it smells like, other than fruity with a sense of floral scent, I find it to be very uniquely YSL's scent.

At first the consistency feels quite watery but after a while it starts to feel a little bit gel-like and slightly tacky. I find that it quite difficult to apply the Glossy Stain evenly at first but with practice, I found it easier to apply (I normally start in the middle of my bottom lip in a thin layer and work outward).

Fuchsia Dore looks slightly different from the tube because once applied, it appears darker. I also find that it stains my lips quite well as well. As for the shade, in some light, it looks like dark berry with tiny gold flecks but in some light it looks like magenta pink which I personally love because I have never seen a similar shade to this before. Therefore, I do think that for the shade and the gold flecks alone, it is well worth the money.  Having said that, I did have my doubt at the beginning about this product that's why it took me so long for me to write a review because I wanted to make sure that I use it properly first.

1 layer, 2 layers and 3 layers
As you can see that you can build up the opaqueness with each application. I think that with only one layer, my lips can feel quite drying after 2-3 hours and the stain comes off after 5 hours (with eating and drinking). With 2-3 layers, I don't find it to be as drying on the lips and it also glosses over all my dry patches. I wear 2 layers when I want a lighter look and when I don't want it to be as glossy. Whilst the 3 layers look is for when I want my lips to pop with deep berry shade and the extra glossiness. The sensation whilst wearing this is quite strange because of the gel-like consistency so it feels a little bit heavy but not in a bad way. When I wear 3 layers of this, I have to be very careful when eating or smiling as the product does transfer to my chin, which isn't a good look.

Overall, I love YSL Glossy Stain and I would definitely go out and buy another shade. Even though, it is difficult to apply that does take a little bit of time to work it. At first, I didn't really like it that much and I thought that it was a waste of money but after I have been working with it for a while, I really like it. I love how glossy it gets. I love the gold flecks as it makes my lips look bigger as well. Fuchsia Dore is just simply gorgeous, and you know how I am all for a bright pop of colour to my lips. Definitely worth the hype and money.
