Hello beautiful!

There is no doubt that Revlon is one of favourite brand, so when I saw a review of this lip gloss over on a blog. I went out and purchase it because I thought that it looks very similar to the very iconic Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's nude glossy lips that I have been after for years!

The packaging for the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss is pretty and simple. Long clear tube with black lid. The quilted pattern on the lid is very Chanel-esque and very similar to the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter (which I love). One word I have for this product is disappointment. I tried to make it work for me because Bellini is such a gorgeous milky peach but it is so hard to apply! I feel like I have to stand in front of the mirror for about 10 minutes to actually get the gloss to go on evenly.

I don't think that the brush helps either because it's quite flat and hard so it doesn't curve around the shape of my lips. The lip gloss also gathers where my lips meet as well. Generally just a bit of a nightmare to use. I also have to make sure that my lips are completely flakes free because unlike other lip gloss that I've tried before (which normally just gloss over the flakes). ColorBurst Lip Gloss emphasises the flakes which means more effort on my part to exfoliate before use. However, Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss is unscented which is a plus for people that hate scented products.

Apart from the being rather difficult to apply. Once the lip gloss is on, I like the formula and how it feels on lips as it feels quite moisturising. Bellini is unlike other lip gloss because it applies semi-opaque (quite similar to the Lip Butter but in a liquid form). I find that this lip gloss is one of those lip gloss that once you applied it, you have to wait a little while for the lip gloss to sink in for it to look good. It is also not very long-lasting (1-2 hours wear time).

Overall, I really like Bellini as a shade and the high-shine finish but I'm not a fan of the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss mainly for their difficult to use brush. Other things I can overlook as Bellini is a gorgeous shade that would be perfect for any smokey eyes look. So, I guess I won't be repurchasing and neither would I recommend it as I'm sure you can find something better.

Have you tried Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss before? If so, do you like it?

You can get this from Boots for £7.99 or 2 for £10.

  5. I am always a bit disappointed with super light lip glosses, they tend to look a lot prettier in the tube than on the lips! I bet this shade would look so nice over a nude lipstick xx

    1. That is very true. I tried using it over nude lipstick, the brush the kinda drag the lipstick out and it looked like a complete mess.

  8. I'm not a huge fan of lip glosses due to its sheer colour and shiny appearance and although this shade looks lovely, it's a shame it was difficult to apply!

    1. I like lip glosses but if you really don't like glosses in the first place, this one won't change your mind.

  11. I have Bellini and I think it's gorgeous but I only use it layered over lipsticks because it's so thick and milky and pigmented that it's hard for me to pull it off alone x

  12. Hmmm I can see what you mean, it does look really runny. I can't pull of nudes anyway as they make my lip look ridiculously huge lol.
