Hello beautiful!

Have I mentioned that I have dry skin? Well, if you didn't know that already, now you do! As a dry skin girl, I have encounter many scaley and peely skin all over my body (lovely image, non?). The funny thing is I don't really peel from sunburn and thing like that. I just get very flakey dry powdery finish on my skin (again, lovely image). So, I can't get away with not exfoliating a few times a week and moisturising daily (yup, you heard that right, I have to moisturise everyday).

Soap & Glory | Sugar Crush Body Scrub

Even since I started using body scrub a few years ago (Soap & Glory Flake Away being my first), it has been a part of my shower routine ever since. Although, I haven't really venture far out of the Soap & Glory range. Sugar Crush Body Scrub being my fourth one (having tried Flake Away which I'm not a fan of, The Breakfast Scrub which I quite like and Pulp Friction which I love). Sugar Crush being my third favourite, just below Pulp Friction and the Breakfast Scrub.

Just because it comes third in the list of four, it doesn't mean that I dislike the scrub, don't get me wrong. Sugar Crush has its redeeming qualities. For once, the scent is incredible and second to none (I'm a fan of sugary fresh scent). It is actually the best smelling scrub I have ever encounter. It smells like sugar and lime which makes sense as it's made of "smashed brown sugar and sweet lime, almond oil and macadamia grains". I mean, doesn't the ingredients alone just make you want to pick up a tub now?

Soap & Glory | Sugar Crush Body Scrub

I think that my experience with Sugar Crush Body Scrub would be greatly improved if Soap & Glory changes the tub packaging into a tube (like Pulp Friction). Am I the only one that detest this tub packaging for products that are supposed to be used in the shower? Because no matter how hard I tried, I always managed to get water into the scrub making the consistency of the scrub turns into a milky watery nightmare.

The consistency of the Sugar Crush Body Scrub is quite thick and erm...grainy but not in a gentle small grains exfoliant like The Breakfast Scrub but rather a combination of large and small grains. Making this a rather harsh exfoliator, so be careful to not get anywhere near broken skin because it will sting. Nonetheless, I think that body scrub is rather essential, especially during the summer months. It's great to use for getting rid of any dry skin and before shaving.

Sugar Crush Body Scrub, this being my second tub because I bought one in a 3 for 2 offer last year and then I received another one in the Soap & Glory Christmas Gift Set. I can safely say that I won't be repurchasing it because even though I quite like it as it doesn't dry out my skin and it doesn't leave me feeling like I'm left covering in a coat of oil after using it. However, I just prefer Pulp Friction which I will be repurchasing as soon as I use up all of my body scrubs. I'd say that a tub like this usually last me about 4 months and I scrub all over my body, every other day.
You can get Sugar Crush Body Scrub from Boots for £8 (300ml) and currently on 3 for 2 offer.

  1. I did find that this stings a lot as well if you have dry skin. I have one of the shower trays which made using this a lot easier. Do you have one? They're really cheap and help you organise things in the shower a lot more :)

    1. I don't have one because my shower is a bath/ shower thing and it's connected to the windowsill, so I normally just put it on there but I used to have a proper shower but it was too small to fit a shower tray in there. A good idea though :)

  2. I love this one so much, the scent of it is just amazing! x

  10. I bought this ages ago but I haven't used it because I've been using Soap & Glory's Sugar Crush Body Wash.

It smells almost exactly the same as this and is a shower gel in a bottle, which comes with a pump. It's super effective for dry and flakey skin and it leaves those areas soft for days and days. It might be a good alternative for this scrub.
