Hello beautiful!

Being Asian, I was cursed with the short and stubby lashes that very often point downward making it looks like I have no lashes at all. Once upon a time, I gave up on the idea of trying to use mascara because most of the time it just smudges all around my eyes. Then I met Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler (review is coming shortly) which changed my life completely. I can now enjoy using mascara as my lashes are curled and pretty-ish looking.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof

Ever since I started to get into Benefit They're Real! mascara, I thought that was it. It was going to be the mascara that I will always repurchase for the rest of my life (which I kinda did for about a year). However, I noticed that recently, Benefit increased the price of the mascara by £1 (I already thought it was fairly expensive at £18.50 and that £1 just pushed it over the edge. I can't reason with myself to spend that much money on a mascara anymore). Thus, I started to be unfaithful and look elsewhere for better option. Then, there I find myself with Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof which is half the price of the Benefit one. Needless to say, I see why people are hyping about this.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof

Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof comes with spoon shaped bristle mascara wand which I find extremely easy to apply them to my lashes. It just shaped in a way that it fit perfectly to the curve of my lashes. You can also wiggle the flexible wand so that it can get even the hard to reach lashes. The size of the bristle isn't too big either, it's just narrow enough to brush the lashes nicely without having some sort of fear of getting the wand in my eyes. I have decided to go for the waterproof version because I have very watery eyes so if I go for the normal version, I fear that I might look like a panda. I find the formula of this mascara to be fairly wet and I have to wait a couple of minutes between each coats but it's not wet enough to transfer everywhere as you are blinking.

1 coat, 2 coats and 3 coats.

As for the staying power, I really have to say that it is just as good as Benefit They're Real!. It lasts all day, it will stays put until I decide to remove it, it doesn't flakes or smudge. Although, it is a little bit difficult to remove but it is to be expected from waterproof version of anything. I will have to say that it is indeed waterproof because I can cry and walk around in the rain (as you do) and the mascara won't run, not even a little bit. Although, I would suggest sticking to 2 coats maximum because after that it just goes on way too clumpy and feels very heavy. I personally don't mind clumpy lashes look because it at least make me look like I actually have some lashes but that is just me. So if you have short lashes and want a bit of drama, give Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof mascara a go. I look forward to trying their normal version too, just to see how it compares.

The picture above probably doesn't justify how amazing this mascara is because of my short, sparse and broken lashes. Nonetheless, if you have any tips on how I can get better lashes without using fake lashes, please let me know.

You can get this from Boots for £7.99 (Currently on offer, buy one and get second one 1/2 price).
The waterproof version is a little bit hard to find but it is worth it.

    1. I haven't tried OnebyOne because I sworn off trying another Maybelline mascara after hating Colossal.

  4. These definitely look very clumpy after the third coat but it does have damn a lot of volume! I recommend using an asian brand mascara with fibers! I've been using kiss me heroine mascara (both versions volumizing and lengthening) and by brushing the excess off onto the cap of the tube applying many coats doesn't clump my lashes!

  7. Have you tried Fairydrops? If you haven't yet I definitely recommend it, it's perfect for "asian" lashes. Volumizes, lengthens (it has fibers) and holds a curl :)

  8. I usually go for asian mascaras with fiber that washes out with warm water because I'm too lazy with my makeup removal routine. XD My current go to mascara has fibers in them and it always makes my eyelashes look so long!

  12. I’m a loyal maybelline mascara fan.The Mega Plush is lightweight and super buildable..leaving your lashes soft and not weighed down at all which means it holds a pretty nice curl

  13. I am always on the lookout for a new mascara, especially ones that give you volume as my lashes tend to be on the thin side.
