I have to admit, I have some serious shopping problem. You might know that I'm currently supposedly still on my 100 days shopping ban (25 days left)... Needless to say I have completely failed. Every times I come back to uni, I get overwhelmed with desire to shop a lot. I know that people are SO over the Naked 2 palette because Urban Decay already brought out a new palette (you know, the Naked Basics one). Nonetheless, I have been wanting one of the Naked palette for ages but I couldn't decide which one but the other day I managed to swatch both Naked and Naked 2 in Debenhams where I finally made up my mind about which one I want. I also already owned a perfectly good dupe of original Naked (MUA Undressed). Plus, I prefer the packaging of the Naked 2. So I brought it... Hello to my first ever high-end eyeshadow.
This palette comes with 12 neutrally beautiful shades that are perfect for both day and night looks. Most of them have shimmery/satiny finish with a few matte ones which are just perfect for me because I love a bit of shimmer/satin eyeshadow. It comes equipped with a full sized mirror and a synthetic double ended brush, flat on one side and fluffy on the other. You see, perfect for travelling. I quite enjoy using the flat one but I find the fluffy side to be a little hard to use because the bristles are so long, I don't really know what to do with myself. Although, I probably just need more practice because it's quite useful for blending the edges of the eyeshadow.
Here are a swatch of Foxy, Half Baked and Bootycall. Honestly, I love it when company use quirky names (like Nars Deep Throat). It attracts me to the products because that is just the kind of sense of humour that I have. All the shades feel very creamy and pigmented. Nothing like the drugstore eyeshadow, I've ever tried before. Foxy is a matte highlighting shade. Half Baked is metallic gold. Bootycall is satin cream (another highlighting shade for when you are feeling a bit satiny).
Here are the swatch of Chopper, Tease and Snakebite. Chopper is very pretty brassy shade which could be described as rose gold with a hint of glitter. Tease is the second matte shade of the palette, in a shade that I can only described as taupe. Can't say that I'm a fan of the name Snakebite but it's a gorgeous shade, I'm willing to over look the name (What's in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Okay, I will stop quoting Shakespeare now). Snakebite is another metallic one, this time in dark bronze.
Suspect, Pistol and Verve. Suspect has a satin finish with a slight taupe shade mixed with champagne. Pistol is down right metallic grey. Verve is whitish-grey metallic shade. I really these shades for when I want to create grey smokey eyes.
YDK, Busted and Blackout. I think the shades are getting a little bit violent towards the end (haha). YDK (You Don't Know?) is a cross between Snakebite and Suspect, it's a bronzey taupe. Busted is satiny dark brown with a hint of plum. Finally, Blackout is matte black (although, in the pan it looks like it has micro glitter.
Like I said before, initially, I wasn't all that interested in this lip gloss at all but look at that cap! The beautifully cut out metal won me over. I gave it a swatch and I loved it. It feels nice and cool, like eating menthol and then licking your lips afterwards. It's not sticky at all. Just a generally a lovely product which I would actually repurchase. Lip Junkie in Naked is a nice addition to my ever growing collection of lip products.
Overall, I think this palette worth every penny. I brought it from Debenhams with 10% discount code, that really pushed me over the edge. I know the original £36 is very steep but this palette just screams quality. I couldn't really say no. If you love using neutral eyeshadows and have a little bit of cash to spare, I think it's an amazing addition. But if you don't want to be spending that much money on what simply is just some eyeshadows then I would suggest trying some MUA palettes (I have Heaven & Earth, Undressed and Immaculate). So far, no regret/guilt for buying this palette yet.
What do you of this palette? Do you prefer it the the Naked one and the Naked Basics?
